Our Little Piece of Heaven
We want to live here. So we bought it. Just kidding. But isn’t it swell. We’re inquiring on the asking price. Kidding again!
We stumbled upon Rathmoy Lodge, a gorgeous lodge on 1,000 hectares of farmland with beautiful views of a river in a small town that I’m sure ends with “kiki” or “tata” or “dada.” I can’t remember.
We got to the lodge, and it was empty. So we had this beautiful home all to ourselves. And we decided we never wanted to leave.
After going for a swim in the river (and skipping rocks, of course), the lodge owner, Mark, came by to say hello with his wife, Andrea, following closely behind with one of their little dogs. Mark and Andrea welcomed us with wine, Chardonnay in fact, so I knew I loved them. Mark then took us out on his quad to help him herd hundreds of sheep. The little dog at some point had gone missing, but somehow when we got into the pasture (or paddock), the dog just walked on up, and Mark propped him on my lap. So here we are, dog in tow, shepherding. It was really, really cool.
We later went on a short hike to these incredible boulders. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves (as we do).
